Reiki Drumming - Prerequisite: Level II Reiki

The drum is an ancient instrument dating back tens of thousands of years.  It has been used for healing, celebration, ritual, worship, rites of passage, divination, communicating tribe to tribe, and with the earth and spirit realms.  The drumbeat lifts and carries us easily into these deeper rhythms, and as it does another world is revealed.  We are transported to a field of vibration where body, mind, soul, nature, spirit, and the cosmos dance together.

Drumming is a powerful experience, it all stems from the reality that we are cradled in a world of rhythm.  Everything that exists is vibratory.  This is true for stars, planets and all matter.  It is the Primal Pulse, the Universal Heartbeat, and the true Mother that unites us all.  Drumming wakes up the life force deep within the cells of our being that release the memories and knowing of who we really are.  The drum becomes the voice that takes you inside to a deeper understanding beyond words and images.

When we combine the energy of the drum with Reiki we have a healing method that takes the power of Reiki to a new and profound level of healing.  With each drumbeat we are able to send Reiki deep into the physical and subtle bodies simultaneously.  Every organ, every cell in the body is a drum and drumming reminds our body of its ideal vibratory rate, which is in harmony with the pulse of the Earth and the Universal flow of creation.  Reiki Drumming creates a harmony that raises the vibratory rate to levels, which allow the body to accelerate its innate healing abilities.

Day One

• The creation of sacred space
• Earth based drum teachings
• Drum journey - A journey of reclaiming your sacred voice
• Introduction to Reiki Drumming techniques
• Reiki Drum Healing “ Developed by Michael Arthur Baird, this technique carries Reiki deep within a persons being by transforming the Reiki energy into sound waves.  It is a very powerful method of using Reiki to effect all levels of the energy bodies.  Participants will learn the steps of the drum healing and the complete facilitation of a Reiki drum healing.  Each participant will have the opportunity to both give and receive a Reiki Drum Healing.
• Drumming the Chakras - A powerful method of clearing and strengthening the Chakras.
• Drumming Circle “ Experience the joy and oneness of creating sound and rhythm in a drum circle.

Day Two

• Creating Sacred Space “ Drumming the Four Directions
• Drum Attunement Ceremony - with the intention of attuning the student and the drum using the Reiki symbols.
• Reiki Drum Journey - A group drum journey to connect with the heartbeat of mother Earth.
• Group Drumming - Celebrating our unique voice
• The Drum Journey - The process of the Shamanic drum journey and the Reiki Drum Journey technique.
• Facilitating a Drum Journey - Practice Reiki Shamanic Drumming and receive a Reiki Drumming Journey session.
• Reiki Drumming Manual - Participants will receive a manual with the techniques and teachings.  Included in the manual will be pages for journaling and extra notes.
• Reiki Drumming Practitioner certificate -  Upon successful completion of the program, those showing competency in the Reiki Drumming techniques and Reiki Drum Journey will receive a Reiki Drumming Practitioner certificate.
• The course fee includes a 16" Remo Buffalo Drum and Reiki Drumming manual.

Instructor:

Barbara McKell is a registered Teacher with the Canadian Reiki Association. She is  an Usui/Tibetan Reiki Master, a Karuna Reiki® Master, certified Sound Healer, certified Master Practitioner of Reiki Drumming and drum circle facilitator. Barbara works with sound and vibration in her healing practice, using chanting, toning, drumming, crystal bowls and chimes.  Barbara was trained by Michael Arthur Baird in the methods of Reiki Drumming and Reiki Drum Journeying in 2002. She received her Sound Healing certification from Jonathan Goldman in 2004. Her classes are in depth, fun and inspiring.
