Citrine – The Gem of Abundance and Sunny Optimism

The name Citrine comes from the colour of the stone. It is named after the French word for lemon. Most of the Citrine we are purchasing in New Age stores today is heat-treated amethyst. Natural citrine is pale yellow to pale orange. The most valuable stones have a clear, radiant yellow, the colour of lemons.  Citrine is quart crystal. All quartz crystal, have a hardness of 7.  It is the iron impurities which give citrine its rich colour.
The gemstone Citrine is the official birthstone for the month of November. Most of the Citrine we use comes from Brazil, with much of its production coming from the southern part of Brazil. It is also found in Africa, Spain, France, Scotland and the United States.
There is scant information on the use of Citrine in history. From what I could discover, citrine was used as gem in Greece in 300 B.C. The ancient Romans used it for jewellery and it was also very popular for jewellery in the 19th century. Large Citrines were set in many prized pieces, including the elaborate Art Deco inspired jewellery pieces made for Hollywood stars such as Greta Garbo and Joan Crawford. Over the years Citrine has become affordable and plentiful.  http://www.jewelsforme.com/Citrine-History.asp
Citrine is associated with the Solar Plexus Chakra and personal will.  It is good for elevating self esteem.  It offers confidence and self-discipline, which opens the 3rd chakra.  Citrine keeps you cheerful. It is considered the “money stone”, which will assist the user in attracting abundance and wealth.
Yellow is the ray of optimism and Citrine brings through the yellow ray so beautifully. I feel the attraction aspect is not so much about money but about optimism, self esteem and creativity. Citrine simulates both the second and third chakras, initiating creative energy and personal will to increase our ability to bring energy into form. Citrine can be extremely helpful in manifesting your goals.
An optimistic person will continually attract all that they need into their lives. This includes attracting healthy relationships and physical health, as well as material needs.  Citrine has the ability to open the powers of creative imagination an assist the user to manifest the creative thoughts which come through the imagination. Dreams and wishes become tangible. Rather than stewing about the economy or your personal lack, place a citrine in your purse, cash box or piggy bank to assist in attracting what you need.
Citrine carries the power of the sun working as a powerful generator and cleanser, absorbs, dissipates and transmutes energy, which makes it a good stone for clearing the aura. It is particularly good for centering. Wear it in contact with the skin.
It is an excellent stone to use to clear a room and protect the environment. It will help to clear family discord. It is recommended to use citrine to help sell your house.  Be sure to place a citrine in each room of your home when you wish to sell it. This will keep the energy clean and clear avoiding those negative vibes which might deter potential buyers from wanting to live in your house. Place a Citrine in the wealth corner of your house. This will help you get the best price for your property.
On the physical level, this brilliant yellow jewel aids metabolism, digestion and tissue regeneration. It stimulates the body’s own healing ability and balances hormones. It will support weight loss, assist with stamina and physical energy.
