Peridot and rose quartz are the colours which represent the colours and vibration associated with the heart chakra. They are very complimentary and create a strong healing partnership around self love and acceptance. They are also a perfect pair for attracting romantic love in the most positive sense. Together they align the physical heart (green) and the spiritual/sacred heart (pink).
 
Rose quart: The Stone of Unconditional Love
Rose quartz is a quartz crystal that gets its pink colour from manganese, iron rutile or titanium. More recent study has that the colour may be due to microscopic fibres such as Dumortierite.
Rose quartz is usually opaque to translucent; more rarely found in a transparent gem quality. It is found in various shades of pale pink to rosy red.  Rose quartz comes from Brazil, USA, India and Madagascar.  It is usually found in large masses, but sometimes grows in small prismatic clusters. 
There is little in historical information about Rose Quartz although rose quartz beads were found in Mesopotamia (now Iraq) dating back to 7000 BC. The Assyrians and the Romans were first to use this stone during 800-600 BC,  The Romans used it for making seals as a sign of ownership and considered rose quartz a strong healing stone.  Egyptians believed the pink stone helped to prevent aging. 
Crystal Healers regard Rose Quartz as a gentle, loving energy that is appropriate for everyone because it creates an aura of love and gentleness. I have found it a very effective crystal for children who have a fear of being alone in their room at night. This fear can conjure up all kinds of negativity such as, “the monster under the bed”. By placing a rose quartz under the bed the child feels safe and protected.  The stone is also used to assist babies in their transition into the physical world, and again it can be placed under the crib or worn by the expectant mother.
Rose quartz will help to open the heart chakra in a gentle way. When the heart is closed we lose both the capacity to give and receive love. By opening the heart we are able to release the past and are open to receive more and more love. Our capacity for love is actually infinite, but when we feel hurt and betrayed, we close the heart in an effort to protect ourselves. Rose quartz helps to heal the damaged heart, release grief and unexpressed emotions. Rose quartz draws love to us and allows us open to the unified field of unconditional love both increasing our individual capacity for self-love and our ability to love all others.
Rose Quartz has the ability to enhance the positive. Because it offers a matrix of unconditional love, it supports the emotional body and negates the emotional boundaries that leave us feeling separate and unloved.
 
Peridot - Positive Power
 Peridot is a green stone, the depth of its colour is related to how much Iron is in the crystal. Peridot is often found in ancient lava rock. In Hawaii, Peridot is called “Pele’s tears”. Legend tells the story of Pele, the Hawaiian Volcano Goddess, who released the emotional pain of the past through her tears, so that she could have a greater capacity to receive love.
Peridot is a heart stone that works well with other crystals. Like green nuggets of positive power, they bless and energize the human body and offer an aura of protection. Peridot helps to strengthen our connection to our Earth mother. Peridot is said to be able to find the potential that already exists within the DNA and assists in cell level healing.
